What stands out

One post is titled, “I Backtested the Classic RSI(2) Mean-Reversion Strategy on 26 Years of SPY. 181 Trades, 82% Win Rate — Here's the Honest Result.” A separate excerpt says, “181 trades, an honest walk-forward split, and the real tradeoff nobody shows you: it loses on raw return but cuts drawdown by 75%.”

Where it sits in the data

AlgoEdge Insights's $1K in the last 30 days is higher than 75% of the 5,602 projects with payment-verified revenue in our dataset; the median across them is $150. Within the “News & Magazines” category (38 projects) it is higher than 79% (category median $40). Snapshot: 2026-09-02 to 2026-09-30. The dataset only covers founders who chose to publish their numbers, so it leans toward businesses that work; use it for scale, not as an average.

Currency

All figures are in US dollars as published. A rough yuan or euro conversion is not applied here because prices, taxes and acquisition costs differ by country.

Could you build something like this?

My view is that this needs real work. The buyer is a systematic trader who wants Python-powered strategies, backtesting ideas, quantitative research, market insights, and code-ready strategies. Demand would depend on presenting research that traders can evaluate. Distribution would come from a newsletter, research posts, and partnerships aimed at that audience.

The hard parts are maintaining correct code, keeping published research aligned with the underlying analysis, explaining backtest limitations, and handling support load. Trading-related information also brings regulatory and compliance work. A new entrant would compete for attention with newsletters, quantitative research communities, and established trading tools.

Verdict: Needs real work.

One thing to take from it

My view: the clearest lesson is to show the research scope and trade-off plainly. AlgoEdge Insights publishes a trade count, testing period, win rate, walk-forward split, raw-return result, and drawdown result, giving readers concrete points to assess the work.
