“1M” is one million dollars a year. The site looks at how different kinds of businesses got there, and at the smaller milestones on the way.
1M.chat has three parts: case studies of individual businesses, data pages that group thousands of businesses by industry, business model, revenue, growth channel and tool, and a chat that answers questions from the same case library.
Every number is sourced and dated. Facts about a business come from its own website; what founders said about revenue and growth comes from their interviews and is labelled that way. How we do this is set out on the method and sources page.
Who runs it
1M.chat is operated by UNILINK, which has entities in Australia, China and the United Kingdom. Some pages include partner links for company registration and business insurance; how that works is on the disclosure page.
