SilkFlo: $3K a month, self-reported in 2023 — board-ready AI governance

SilkFlo is an AI investment governance platform for tracking initiatives from intake through financial impact and board reporting. Its $3K a month was founder-reported on the Indie Hackers product page (not independently verified), as of August 2023.

What it actually sells

SilkFlo sells AI investment governance, ROI modelling, benefits realisation tracking, and board-ready financial reporting. Its site describes it as “the independent financial governance layer connecting Copilot, RPA and agentic AI investment to board-ready proof of return.” The platform covers opportunities, financial models, approvals, realised impact, and portfolio reporting.

The product is built for “Heads of AI and Finance Directors accountable for evidencing benefits realisation across the portfolio.” Its features include AI-assisted opportunity intake, impact scoring, Solution Blueprints, stage-gate governance, a Realized Value Ledger, and reports showing Capacity Released, cost avoidance and EBITDA impact.

How it charges

Plans start at £60/month. All plans include a 30-day free trial, with no credit card required. SilkFlo also offers an ROI and Plan Estimator, and its site lists a Free AI ROI Calculator where people can check the methodology.

Where customers come from

The site lists several visible routes: a Free AI ROI Calculator, an ROI and Plan Estimator, a vendor-agnostic API, and purchase through the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. SilkFlo also says the API connects to every deployed solution in your tech stack, while the marketplace route works against an existing MACC commitment.

What stands out

SilkFlo combines intake, financial modelling, governance workflows, and post-deployment comparison in one platform. Solution Blueprints generate “detailed financial models for Copilot, RPA, agentic AI and more, covering cost, revenue and risk.” The Realized Value Ledger compares actual P&L impact against the original business case automatically.

The site reports that Aviva UK identified £12M in savings opportunities, qualified 102 use cases with financial models attached, and completed its assessment period in 21 days. It also reports €3m+ ROI tracked by an electronics manufacturing firm.

Where it sits in the data

SilkFlo's $3K a month is higher than 53% of the 6,604 projects with founder-reported monthly revenue in our dataset; the median across them is $2K. Snapshot: 2026-09-30. The dataset only covers founders who chose to publish their numbers, so it leans toward businesses that work; use it for scale, not as an average.

Currency

All figures are in US dollars as published. A rough yuan or euro conversion is not applied here because prices, taxes and acquisition costs differ by country.

Could you build something like this?

My view is that this needs real work. The buyer is a Head of AI or Finance Director accountable for portfolio returns, and distribution would depend on reaching enterprise decision-makers through useful tools, marketplace listings, integrations, and direct sales. The hard parts include financial-model accuracy, governance controls, audit-ready records, integrations, and support for users across multiple business functions.

The central difficulty is proving realised value after deployment while keeping the underlying models and approvals usable for finance and board review. A new entrant would also face competition in enterprise governance, ROI analytics, and workflow software. Regulation is not described as the main obstacle here, but financial controls, data handling, and customer-specific implementation support would require serious attention.

Verdict: Needs real work.

One thing to take from it

SilkFlo shows a product shape built around the full investment cycle: intake, financial models, approval checkpoints, realised-value tracking, and board-ready reports. The site’s proof points focus on identified savings, qualified use cases, assessment speed, and tracked ROI.
