Prediction Guard secures AI agents, $27K a month, self-reported in 2023: NIST policy
Prediction Guard sells software that enforces security and governance policies across AI models and agents. Its $27K a month was founder-reported on the Indie Hackers product page (not independently verified), as of January 2023.
What it actually sells
Prediction Guard sells self-hosted AI security and governance software for models, tools, and agents. Its platform enforces NIST and OWASP policy across models and agents inside a customer’s security boundary.
Interactive and autonomous agents can be created through APIs or natural-language prompts. Prediction Guard also provides OpenAI, Anthropic, and MCP-compatible APIs for self-hosted or cloud endpoint models.
How it charges
The pages we read show no price. Prediction Guard’s software covers runtime policy enforcement, identity tracking, supply-chain controls, AI observability, audit capabilities, cost management, and APIs for models and agents.
Where customers come from
Prediction Guard publishes a blog titled “Building Secure, Real-World AI,” AI governance whitepapers titled “Learn Proven AI Governance Strategies,” and recorded webinars. It also releases the Agent Control Kit on Docker Hub.
What stands out
Prediction Guard claims it accelerates time-to-production by 300%. It also claims 90% fewer services are needed against Azure and reports a 4× total cost of ownership reduction against fragmented AI security point solutions.
The team reports 126 combined years in AI and enterprise software. “Key systems are integrated via MCP, and human + agent identities are tracked out of the box.”

Where it sits in the data
Prediction Guard's $27K a month is higher than 77% of the 6,604 projects with founder-reported monthly revenue in our dataset; the median across them is $2K. Snapshot: 2026-09-30. The dataset only covers founders who chose to publish their numbers, so it leans toward businesses that work; use it for scale, not as an average.
Currency
All figures are in US dollars as published. A rough yuan or euro conversion is not applied here because prices, taxes and acquisition costs differ by country.
Could you build something like this?
My view is that this needs real product and security work. The buyer is an enterprise operating AI models and agents, with platform engineers, software vendors, AI engineers, and partners involved. Distribution would require direct enterprise engagement, developer communities, technical content, and integration channels.
The difficult parts include policy enforcement across models, tools, and agents; identity tracking; MCP integration; self-hosted deployment; observability; audit work; and security support. Enterprise sales, compliance requirements, regulatory sensitivity, and competition from established security vendors would add further difficulty.
Verdict: Needs real work.
One thing to take from it
Prediction Guard combines runtime policy enforcement, model and agent controls, observability, audit capabilities, and cost management in one self-hosted platform aimed at platform engineers, software vendors, AI engineers, partners, and enterprises operating AI.
