Where it sits in the data
Picture It's $1.2K a month is higher than 44% of the 6,604 projects with founder-reported monthly revenue in our dataset; the median across them is $2K. Snapshot: 2026-09-30. The dataset only covers founders who chose to publish their numbers, so it leans toward businesses that work; use it for scale, not as an average.
Currency
All figures are in US dollars as published. A rough yuan or euro conversion is not applied here because prices, taxes and acquisition costs differ by country.
Could you build something like this?
My view is that this needs real work. The buyer is a Shopify art retailer that wants customers to preview artwork in their own rooms. Distribution would have to come through Shopify’s app ecosystem, relevant art and gallery communities, and direct outreach to stores. Search demand would also depend on merchants looking for room previews, augmented reality, and fewer purchase uncertainties.
The difficult parts include importing store data, handling artwork and furniture dimensions, rendering room previews, and supporting different storefront configurations. Store customization adds another layer of implementation and support work. Competition would come from other Shopify apps, augmented reality tools, and room-planning products. Regulation is not the central challenge described on the site, but privacy, device compatibility, rendering quality, and merchant support would require sustained technical work.
Verdict: Needs real work.
One thing to take from it
My view is that the strongest lesson is to attach a visual preview directly to an existing purchase decision. Picture It connects product imports, room mockups, augmented reality previews, background removal, auto-framing, and store branding inside Shopify.
