API media generation, $7.9K MRR: templates, workflows and agents

Orshot turns approved templates into API-driven images, PDFs and videos for developers, agencies, brands, startups and marketing teams. Its $7.9K MRR is verified through the payment provider's API by TrustMRR (Stripe), as of September 30, 2026.

What it actually sells

Orshot sells API-based generation of images, PDFs and videos from reusable templates. Customers design a template, call it through an API, n8n, Make, Zapier or an AI agent, and receive rendered content.

The site describes Orshot as “an API-first platform for generating images, PDFs and videos from templates at scale — built for developers, agencies and marketing teams.” Its stated audience also includes brands and startups.

The official site shows its pricing as follows: Free; Launch from $39/mo; Grow from $160/mo; Scale from $349/mo. Prices are as shown on the site on 2026-10-01 and may change.

Where customers come from

Visible routes include a REST API, SDKs, webhooks, an API reference and an MCP server. Orshot also lists connections to n8n, Make and Zapier, plus customer stories and public Open Startup metrics updated every 12 hours since launch.

The site also surfaces Canva and Figma imports, publishing to 15+ platforms, and an editor that can be embedded in React or Vue products.

What stands out

The product combines reusable templates with several ways to render and use them. Orshot lets customers “Bring any Canva design in as a parameterized template,” import from Figma, publish each render to 15+ platforms, and embed a white-label editor.

Its site reports 99.98% uptime, 1,160,000+ renders and 1.2M+ renders processed. It also states that 140+ teams use Orshot and that it has 100+ paying customers.

Where it sits in the data

Orshot's $7.9K MRR is higher than 92% of the 5,602 projects with payment-verified revenue in our dataset; the median across them is $150. Within the “No-Code” category (123 projects) it is higher than 95% (category median $169). Snapshot: 2026-09-02 to 2026-09-30. The dataset only covers founders who chose to publish their numbers, so it leans toward businesses that work; use it for scale, not as an average.

Currency

All figures are in US dollars as published. A rough yuan or euro conversion is not applied here because prices, taxes and acquisition costs differ by country.

Could you build something like this?

In my view, this needs real work. The buyer is a team that repeatedly produces visual assets and wants approved designs rendered through software. Distribution would have to come from developer communities, automation-platform integrations, design-tool imports and direct outreach to agencies and marketing teams.

The difficult parts include dependable rendering, template parameterization, integrations, publishing infrastructure, security and support for workflow failures. Buyers face competition across design, automation and content tools. Regulation becomes more relevant when generated PDFs or other business documents enter regulated processes.

Verdict: Needs real work.

One thing to take from it

Orshot’s clearest lesson is to turn an approved design into reusable infrastructure. The template remains the control point, while REST APIs, no-code tools, AI agents, social publishing and embedded editors provide distinct ways to use the same rendering system.
