Music subscriptions for artists, $1K MRR: artists set fan pricing

Insidr is a subscription app where music artists share music, exclusives, behind-the-scenes content, and fan access. Its $1K MRR is verified through the payment provider's API by TrustMRR (Stripe, RevenueCat), as of September 30, 2026.

What it actually sells

Insidr is a direct-to-fan subscription app for music artists. Its site says superfans can subscribe, stream music, and get exclusive content through the app.

Artists can stream released and unreleased music, publish behind-the-scenes photos and videos, and use direct chat. The artist dashboard covers payers, playback, engagement, and fan data.

How it charges

The site says, “Fans pay £4.99 a month. You set the price.” Artists also choose the monthly subscription price and can support multiple tiers.

Where customers come from

The site promotes a blog with direct-to-fan platform guides and provides iOS and Android apps. Visitors can create an artist profile and start building a direct relationship with fans.

What stands out

The reported artist case study shows £15,013 generated, 235 paying subscribers, and 1,556 fans in the app. The fan data is exportable.

The site says the same fans can earn artists over 4,000% more than streaming. It presents that figure as a comparison with streaming.

Where it sits in the data

Insidr's $1K MRR is higher than 75% of the 5,602 projects with payment-verified revenue in our dataset; the median across them is $150. Within the “Community” category (165 projects) it is higher than 76% (category median $126). Snapshot: 2026-09-02 to 2026-09-30. The dataset only covers founders who chose to publish their numbers, so it leans toward businesses that work; use it for scale, not as an average.

Currency

All figures are in US dollars as published. A rough yuan or euro conversion is not applied here because prices, taxes and acquisition costs differ by country.

Could you build something like this?

My view is that the buyer is a music artist seeking subscriptions and monthly support from superfans. Distribution would need to come through artist networks, social channels, content, search, and direct outreach.

My view is that this needs real work across iOS and Android, payments, subscriptions, music delivery, rights, privacy, and support. Competition, artist acquisition, fan conversion, and the support load would be central operating challenges.

Verdict: Needs real work.

One thing to take from it

Insidr combines artist-set subscription pricing with music streaming, exclusive content, direct chat, and fan data in dedicated iOS and Android apps.
