GraphQL Portal: $15K a month, self-reported
GraphQL Portal combines REST APIs, databases and GraphQL schemas through an open-source API gateway. Its $15K a month was founder-reported on the Indie Hackers product page (not independently verified), as of September 30, 2026.
What it actually sells
GraphQL Portal is an open-source GraphQL-native API gateway and data-source aggregation platform for developers integrating multiple APIs, databases and front-end applications. Its site asks: “You integrate more than 2 APIs, doing PWA or headless, mobile apps?”
It connects REST APIs, GraphQL schemas and databases, then generates and maintains a unified GraphQL schema. It also handles API authentication and quotas and provides fine-grained analytics.
How it charges
The pages we read do not state a price. GraphQL Portal offers cloud and on-premises enterprise versions, while its main site describes GraphQL Portal as open-source software.
Where customers come from
Visible distribution signals include open-source software, installation through Yarn or Homebrew and a GitHub presence. The site also lists cloud and on-premises enterprise versions.
What stands out
GraphQL Portal lists 50+ data-source connectors. Its named connectors include Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, Adobe and Akeneo, with an example that queries Salesforce orders, Akeneo products and SAP prices in one GraphQL request.
Its enterprise features include advanced authorization, ACL management, caching, support and backend services. GraphQL Portal also handles authentication and quotas and provides fine-grained API analytics.
From the official site

Where it sits in the data
GraphQL Portal's $15K a month is higher than 71% of the 6,604 projects with founder-reported monthly revenue in our dataset; the median across them is $2K. Snapshot: 2026-09-30. The dataset only covers founders who chose to publish their numbers, so it leans toward businesses that work; use it for scale, not as an average.
Currency
All figures are in US dollars as published. A rough yuan or euro conversion is not applied here because prices, taxes and acquisition costs differ by country.
Could you build something like this?
My view is that demand comes from developers and engineering teams managing several APIs, databases and application types. The buyer would be the team responsible for integration and API operations, and an open-source project with installation instructions and a GitHub presence would be practical distribution surfaces.
My view is that this needs real work. Maintaining connectors across many data sources is difficult, authentication and authorization add operational complexity, and enterprise buyers can bring substantial support requirements. Competition would also matter because developers already have established gateway and integration options.
Verdict: Needs real work.
One thing to take from it
GraphQL Portal puts integration, authentication, quotas, analytics and schema maintenance around a single GraphQL layer. It also offers cloud and on-premises enterprise versions and lists 50+ data-source connectors.
