Clover: $2.5K a month, self-reported in 2023—POS for businesses
Clover provides payment processing, POS systems, merchant apps, invoicing, subscriptions, ecommerce, and other business technology. Its $2.5K a month was founder-reported on the Indie Hackers product page (not independently verified), as of February 2023.
What it actually sells
Clover sells payment processing, POS systems, merchant apps, invoicing, subscriptions, ecommerce, and other business technology. Its product page lists “Subscriptions, Invoicing, Sales, Apps. $0/m!”
It supports payments in stores, online, over the phone, and by mobile. The site also lists virtual-terminal payments, invoicing, recurring payments, integrations with existing POS systems, and a merchant app store.
How it charges
The site lists Simple Solution Plus at $30/m*. That plan includes POS integration, Quick Serve, seating chart and table management, inventory, on-device ordering, takeout and delivery. The site lists Ecommerce as Free*.
Where customers come from
The site provides a merchant app store for finding business-management apps. It offers an online pickup or delivery store without other delivery services’ fee, a free savings estimate, and integrations with WooCommerce, Megento, and Ect. The page says: “Whether it's online or brick and mortar we have a solution for you.”
What stands out
Clover combines payment acceptance with operational tools for Canadian online and brick-and-mortar businesses. The listed features include accepting payments in stores, online, over the phone, and by mobile, plus taking orders and settling bills directly at the table.

Where it sits in the data
Clover's $2.5K a month is higher than 52% of the 6,604 projects with founder-reported monthly revenue in our dataset; the median across them is $2K. Snapshot: 2026-09-30. The dataset only covers founders who chose to publish their numbers, so it leans toward businesses that work; use it for scale, not as an average.
Currency
All figures are in US dollars as published. A rough yuan or euro conversion is not applied here because prices, taxes and acquisition costs differ by country.
Could you build something like this?
My view is that this is a broad product surface with many buyer needs to address. Payment processing, POS workflows, online sales, invoicing, recurring payments, delivery, inventory, and integrations all require clear product boundaries and dependable execution.
The main challenge would be supporting businesses with different operating models while meeting payment, security, and integration expectations. Competition and support load would matter, and a founder would need distribution to reach the businesses that need these connected tools.
Verdict: Needs real work.
One thing to take from it
The strongest lesson is to look at the connected tools around a business transaction. Clover’s page shows payments, POS functions, ecommerce, delivery, invoicing, recurring payments, and integrations presented as parts of one business-technology offer.
